The Digidesign SMPTE Slave Driver™ is a hardware device designed to provide high-fidelity, direct hardware synchronization of Digidesign’s Pro ToolsT™, Sound Tools IIT™, or ProMaster 20TM digital recording & editing systems to external Longitudinal SMPTE Time code (LTC).
When used with any of the above systems, the SMPTE Slave Driver allows you to achieve high-fidelity LTC synchronization with any digital or analog audio or video tape recorder. This makes the SMPTE Slave Driver a excellent complement to your Digidesign recording & editing system for synchronization applications such as overdubbing, machine-to-machine lock, and track bouncing—as well as music scoring or other non-Vertical Interval Time Code video applications.
